The NewSchools Venture Fund has announced $6 million in support of innovation and greater diversity in education leadership.

The funds will be focused in two areas: Innovative Public Schools, including efforts to design and launch new charter or district schools in the fall of 2022; and Diverse Leaders, including support for early-stage organizations and new initiatives within existing organizations aimed at increasing the number of education leaders who are Black or Latinx, mobilizing and supporting Black and Latinx parents to advocate for changes that benefit their children, and shifting the culture and practices of education organizations toward more equity and inclusivity. In addition to funding, recipients will receive management assistance and access to a community of practice comprising other grantees.
